VA Benefits: Aid & Attendance
The Veterans Administration offers an additional monthly pension benefit for veterans, their spouses, surviving spouses and parents. If you meet certain eligibility criteria, you may apply for this added pension benefit, to help pay for assisted living and home care expenses.
2010 Monthly Aid & Attendance Rates:
- Veteran in Need of Care with Spouse: $1,949
- Single Veteran in Need of Care: $1,644
- Independent Veteran with Spouse in Need of Care: $1,291
- Surviving Spouse in Need of Care: $1,056

Roommate Savings at the Royal Anne
Residents of the Royal Anne Assisted Living suites can receive significant cost savings by sharing their apartment with a roommate. Perfect for twosomes, both parties benefit from saving without sacrificing any of the Royal Anne’s amenities, programs, or services.
Tax‐Exempt Gifting
Family members wishing to pitch in toward the cost of assisted living can take advantage of the IRS gift tax exemption. Individuals can offer annual gifts of up to $13,000 per person without paying the federal gift tax.
